The lord of the night 2 by phalalcrocorax The lord of the night 2 by phalalcrocorax
Here again, we have a wild Tawny Owl, taken in the last lights (almost darkness, the AF wasn't working at all, even if I used an 1D mkIII).
This bird is from Paris !!! One of the very few we have in the gardens of the capital.
It was pure fun to make such a picture !!! I waited almost 3 years to do it !!!

3 years of waiting, pff. Owls are really hard to see, not. I can hear bush owls in our trees (they make a dreadful noise), but I never manage to see one. But the waiting delivered a wonderful pic. It was worth it.

Thanks a lot... I waited 3 years (many tries, many many...) to have a good focus :D
But the camera help a lot to make such picture. It was perhaps one of the best camera I can use for such a picture (1D mkIII + 400 2.8 L USM II).

Thanks a lot. You can't imagine how I was after making this picture :D
For such pictures, you have to be VERY lucky : no wind at all during the exposure, the bird must stay still, you have to find the perfect focus in less than 30seconds because the bird is hunting and don't stay on the same branch for a long time...
That is why I tried to make this picture for 3 years !!!

Wow why has no one commented yet on such a beautiful picture!?!

I love the composition here, along with the warmness of the red leaves. So pretty! Def. a fav!!!

Thanks a lot.
That is okay ;-) Your comment is just enough to make me happy (because you are perfectly right : the bird fit well with the leaves).
Thanks again
