Magpie vs 4002.8 and 5DmkII by phalalcrocorax Magpie vs 4002.8 and 5DmkII by phalalcrocorax
Hi all

Yesterday, I tried this combo on my favourite place and to be fair, I was far from disappointed. In fact, I never expected this quality (the lens had been sent for repair)

To give you an example, this is a crop of this picture :

Processed with the free canon software. It looks a little bit noisy... but it is made at 800isos !

Enjoy :D

One for sorry, two for joy, three for silver, four for gold, five for a boy, six a girl and seven for a story never to be told.

Yes, I know this one, my Mum old me when I was very young.

Oh yes. You are right.

I guess it is this then:

One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret, never to be told, eight for a bakewell tart.

It also seems that I forgot the eighth one. There are also other variants of it, this is the earliest one:

One for sorrow, two for luck, three for a wedding, four for death, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret, not to be told, eight for heaven, nine for hell and ten for the devil's own sell.

I love these birds!!

When I was little I tried to catch one with my bare hands.
I had done it safely with other birds before without any harm done to the creature.
However, this time it was quite different.
The Magpie craned its head around and snipped the top of my first knuckle, I laughed and thought to myself; I would have done the same to get way too.

Great capture!!
